Mission Statement

Pennies Count, Inc. is a non-profit organization that works to aggregate funds to dedicate to organizations focused on addressing basic human needs. We seek to push the narrative that no matter how inconsequential a donation may seem, it still serves to create a very meaningful impact on human life. 100% of the donations we receive are distributed to highly-rated tax-exempt organizations focused on basic human needs.

Pennies Count Methodology

Pennies Count will only work with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations that are based in the United States and focus on addressing basic human needs. These organizations may service global needs, but that is not a requirement for partnership. When evaluating partners, Pennies Count looks at certain factors, such as impact, results, accountability and leadership of the tax-exempt organization, so that the contributions we help gather go as directly as possible to the actual individuals that need it the most. We are looking for highly-rated organizations, and these organizations are then continually evaluated to ensure alignment with the Pennies Count mission.

Pennies Count, Inc. was co-founded by Samuel Wain, who resides in Indiana, and is still in the process of completing his formal education. “It didn’t take me too long in life to notice that there are people on this planet who are less fortunate than me. Pennies Count does not care if these donations flow through us or go directly to these organizations. It simply wants to help support these organizations, as well as others, in their ongoing efforts to effectuate a positive impact on human life by ensuring basic human needs are being met every single day.

Pennies Count Events

Pennies Count will collect pennies from anyone at any time and allocate them toward those who need help with their essential human needs. We are trying to aggregate these funds with the goal of making a profound impact. Fundraising can come through many outlets (e.g. donation buckets, retail sales, direct solicitations, etc), and the contributions can be large or small, and the recipients will still benefit greatly.

It doesn’t matter how we find these pennies, but what matters is how we re-purpose them to do the most good. Pennies Count doesn’t care about the size of the contribution – only that you help us gather those contributions so that we can bring about some positive change to those human lives that need it the most. Pennies do count! It’s our motto.
